I am a freelance artist and photographer currently residing in Pittsburgh, where my studio overlooks the beautiful North Shore.

I began my early career in Northern Kentucky, mentored by my father, Edward Pikar, a 1957 alumnus of the Art Academy Of Cincinnati. He went on to have a very successful career of over 50 years as artist and photographer. For over 50 years, he shared his experience and talents with me.

I incorporated my talents and techniques in the mental health arena to assist clients in expressing their feelings in a therapeutic setting. The techniques allowed clients to communicate feelings non-verbally. After 25 years, I retired and now work as a Life Coach. I use my artistic talent to continue to express myself in  a universal way using my natural ability to mix and match colors, patterns and textures.

My inspiration continues as I paint and photograph thought provoking pieces, using my unique perspective as a tool to inspire feelings and emotions that words simply cannot.

Art for me is more about provoking feelings and emotions through the use of mood altering tones and brilliant colors. My original, eclectic style is meant to take the viewer beyond the physical, provoking imagination and creativity.  It’s my own intimate vision into a world that tells a story of a whimsical time and place. My story is meant to encourage others to always question, be entertained, to feel, to capture the essence of what’s going on in their own world.

Edgar Degas once said, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
