The Lost Art of Handwritten Notes
Good Morning from the Garden Cafe.........While sitting here at the cafe sipping on my coffee, I enjoy writing down ideas and lists of chores that need to be done. But what about writing letters and notes to friends or love ones. Why? Notes are unexpected. Who writes letters anymore? Notes can be savored. Notes can be saved. Notes can be pulled out and reread dozens of times.
The memories of phone calls can be fleeting. Notes ----meaningful. sincere, genuine expressions of thanks, of praise, of feelings --can last forever. Writing a thank-you to some one who believed in you can be a powerful thing, Write an apology to a person you let down. We've all made mistakes. We've all done things we regret. Saying your sorry in a letter can make the elephant in the room no longer matter-to either of you. Write a note of congratulations. You don't even have to know the person. You're letting them know they matter. They'll feel a little better about themselves---and you will feel better about yourself, too. In the process, you'll strengthen a bond and make a better friend. Or write an unexpected compliment. Expected feels good. Unexpected makes a huge, and lasting, impact. I could serve as a reminder that every job, no matter how seemingly thankless or invisible, is appreciated by at least one person. You. And that's an awesome way to be remembered.
Welcome to the Cafe sit back relax and enjoy the coffee on this wonderful morning!!
